Sambar

Cooking time - Approx 45 mins


Ingredients :-


Soaked Toor dal - 1 cup (Toor dal should be soaked in water for 20 mins)
Onions - 12
Chopped Drumsticks - 2
Chopped Chillys - 4
Water - 5 cups
Tamarind juice - 1 cup (1 lemon sized tamarind should be soaked in 1 cup of water for 30 mins)
Salt - 2 tbspns (to taste)
Sambar powder - 2 tbspns
Sugar - 1 tbspn (to taste)
Coriander as needed
Curry leaves - 2 stems


For Seasoning ( Talimpu ) :-


Ghee - 2 tbspns
Jeera - 1 tbspn
Minapappu (urad dal) - 1 tbspn
Aavalu (mustard seeds) - 1 tbspn
Turmeric - 1 tbspn
Dried Chillys - 2
Hing - pinch
Curry leaves - 2 stems
